David Fischman

General Counsel & SVP Operations

David Fischman has been the Company’s General Counsel since June of 2018.  In his role as General counsel, David brings over 15 years of cycle-tested commercial real estate experience that encompasses all facets of real estate transactions and litigations.  As General Counsel, David oversees and directs all corporate,  litigation and transactional matters of the Company, including advising on all complex legal transaction matters, including multi-tiered financings, acquisitions and dispositions and various joint venture deals and tie-ups.  Working closely with the CEO and management team, David works to craft a cohesive legal framework through which the Company can optimize its effectiveness in the marketplace.  

 

Of note, since arriving at Continuum, David has worked on various legal issues and financings related to the Madison Square Park Tower, a condominium buildings sponsored by the Company, the “960 Franklin Development”, a mixed-use redevelopment located in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn unmatched in its complexity and scope, and various transactions and litigation matters related to the Company’s ownership interests in The Manhattan Club, a time-share property in New York.  David also has taken an active role in managing the Company’s retail tenant relationships with respect to the retail properties owned by the company in South Florida.   

 

Prior to joining Continuum, David was the Assistant General Counsel for GFI Capital Resources Group, Inc. in New York, where he advised GFI on all transactional matters, including the purchase and financing of the James Nomad Hotel, the construction and financing of the Beekman Hotel and various other matters relating to GFI’s multi-family and hospitality assets. Additionally, David played a key role in effectuating GFI’s going public on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange for various investment can corporate purposes.  Prior to joining GFI, David worked at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz and Kirkland & Ellis LLP.  

 

David is a 2005 NYU Law graduate who is admitted to practice in the State of New York, and is currently an Adjunct Professor at the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate.
